EDITORIAL: Enough secrecy, Barwon Health

THE Barwon Health board's decision not to release the minutes of its monthly meetings is a slap in the face for the community it serves.

The nub of the issue is the public's right to know how its money is managed to deliver the best possible health services.

Barwon Health is saying we do not have a right to know.

Its decisions will not be made public.

Clearly, the board is behaving in an arrogant manner, out of step with community expectations for open, transparent and accountable processes.

How can we have confidence in our hospital system if the board hides its decision-making and its decisions from the public?
