The 34th Annual Conference of the Atlantic Provinces Political Science Association (APPSA)

Hosted by the Department of Political Science at Saint Mary's University, this year's APPSA conference will figure as the signature academic event in the year long festivities commemorating the 250th anniversary of representative democracy in Nova Scotia; a first for Canada. The conference will be held with the support of the Democracy 250 Committee of the Nova Scotia Legislature.

Planned events include:

  • Two days of panels and roundtables.
  • Joint Keynote address by Dr. Jane Jenson (Canada Research Chair in Citizenship and Governance, Université de Montréal) and Dr. George Ross (Morris Hillquit Professor of Labour and Social Thought, Brandeis University)
  • High profile cross-party debate featuring renowned Canadian political leaders.
  • Conference dinner to be held at the Maritime Museum of the Atlantic on Halifax's picturesque waterfront.
  •
