NS Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Review Office 2009 Annual Report

Good Morning Everyone,

On Monday May 10, 2010, the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Review Officer delivered her 2009 Annual Report to the Nova Scotia House of Assembly which is now available to the public.
Review Officer Dulcie McCallum discloses in the Report the public body recipient of the Gold Star Award, and outlines a number of the Review Reports, Meditations and Informal Resolutions. The latter increased by 135% in 2009, demonstrating a commitment by the Review Office to timely resolutions. The 2009 Annual Report also highlights areas of continuing concern such as failure on the part of many public bodies to give full reasons to applicants when decisions are first made regarding their access requests.
